Redesigning B2B Analytics Filters Shaved 40% Off Task Time: A UX Case Study

Power users in B2B analytics expect fast, repeatable routes to answer complex questions. The product team observed an average of 3.7 minutes spent applying filters for routine analyses, with frequent misclicks and duplicate filter combinations causing frustration. They mapped common filter journeys using product telemetry and customer interviews with 18 enterprise analysts.
The redesign introduced a two-level filter hierarchy, an explicit saved-filter bar, and keyboard shortcuts for common operators. Designers prototyped the interaction in Figma and ran a 20-participant usability study comparing the old UI with the new keyboard-first approach.
