Parcelly’s signup required users to enter a delivery address, verify with SMS, and choose pickup windows. Heatmaps and funnel analysis showed a 38% drop-off at the address verification step — many users abandoned when the auto-complete failed or they couldn’t find their building number.
Designers introduced progressive address input with a simplified one-line field that offered ranked suggestions, integrated local POI heuristics, and allowed manual geolocation with a map pin. They also changed verification feedback from a modal error to inline, contextual hints that suggested common fixes. The form’s validation became optimistic: it allowed users to proceed while background verification completed with a non-blocking status indicator.
After deployment, Parcelly recovered 12% of the previously lost users in the first week and saw a steady increase in completed signups, translating to thousands of additional weekly signups across regions. The support team logged fewer address-related tickets, and NPS for new users saw a measurable uptick.
