Replit secures $40M to ship AI pair-programmer for frontend designers

Replit announced a $40 million funding round aimed at accelerating its AI pair-programmer product, which converts design assets and sketches into live frontend code. The company will expand model training focused on UI semantics, accessibility outputs, and framework idioms for React, Vue, and Svelte.
Funding will also go toward deeper integrations with design tools like Figma and Adobe, as well as deployment features that let designers preview and ship components with a single click. Replit plans to add improved collaboration primitives for designers and developers to work simultaneously in the same environment.
The company says it will invest in model explainability and a review interface so teams can quickly audit and accept generated code, reducing friction for production use. Replit positions the AI pair-programmer as a productivity layer for small product teams and design-led startups.
