RetroArcade announced a $6 million seed round led by Nostalgia Capital and unveiled Arcade Cloud, a streaming-first service delivering curated retro titles and remasters through cloud streaming and downloadable lightweight clients. The service includes modernized input mapping, rewind features, and cloud save portability across devices.
Arcade Cloud partners with boutique publishers and rights holders to remaster assets for 1080p/4K upscaling while preserving original gameplay. The platform provides monetization options including curated bundles, season passes, and limited-time revivals of discontinued titles.
The seed funding will support licensing efforts, a developer-funding program for remasters, and the engineering team scaling streaming infrastructure and input latency optimizations. RetroArcade also announced community features like speedrun leaderboards and creator tools for clipping and sharing moments.
Indie publishers see Arcade Cloud as a low-friction path to reviving older IP and reaching cross-platform players. RetroArcade plans to launch a closed beta and an SDK for small teams to submit remastered title proposals.
