RetroForge launches AI-assisted level designer and raises $8M seed
Gaming · 3 min read
RetroForge's tool uses generative models to suggest level segments, pacing variations, and difficulty tuning based on designer inputs and playtest telemetry. The company envisions reducing repetitive tasks and accelerating iteration loops for level designers.
The seed round, led by Arcade Labs, will fund model refinement, integration with popular engines, and a marketplace for community-generated fragments. RetroForge also added export templates that map generated segments to navigation meshes and event triggers for quick prototyping.
Early studio partners reported that RetroForge cut level prototyping time by half and helped surface more diverse design options during jam-style sprints. The startup plans to add collaborative multiplayer editing and live playtest recording features in the next release.
