Runway debuts SceneFlow for automated product demo videos from static assets

SceneFlow ingests mockups, interaction descriptions and optionally a script; it then synthesizes screen recordings with generated cursor movements, simulated typing, animated transitions and a human-like voiceover. Runway stressed the tool is optimized for short-form demos and explainer clips rather than long-form tutorials.

Output is exportable as standard video formats and as interactive prototypes with clickable hotspots for user testing. Runway built safeguards to prevent the generation of misleading demos—videos are tagged with metadata indicating which interactions were simulated and which were live captures.

The company is offering SceneFlow as a web app and API, and has partnered with several product teams for pilot programs. The feature is expected to reduce turnaround for demo assets while maintaining clarity about what parts of a demo are synthetic.
