Runway launches ClipDesigner for generative UI imagery and micro-animations

ClipDesigner is a generative tool oriented around micro-interactions: button states, loaders, small animated icons, and short onboarding loops. Users provide a short prompt and style references; the model outputs loopable animations and exports compatible with Lottie and After Effects.

Runway included an editing layer so designers can tweak frames, timing and easing curves after generation, preserving editability. Exports come with metadata about frame timing and export-ready assets to plug directly into prototypes.

The product aims to reduce time spent on trivial motion tasks while keeping final control in the motion designer’s hands. Runway also released developer docs demonstrating how generated Lottie files can be integrated into web and native apps with accessible fallbacks.
