Runway ML launches SceneBuilder for game environment generation

SceneBuilder allows level designers and artists to describe environment style, biome, and gameplay constraints, then generates modular meshes, textures, and placement guides. The tool outputs reusable kits — modular walls, props, foliage clusters — that fit together with snapping guides and suggested LODs.

Runway's pipeline includes an assembly assistant that offers layout blueprints and navigation meshes for AI agents. Designers can iterate by swapping art styles or scale and re-export updated kits without reauthoring placement logic. SceneBuilder also supports collapsible texture atlases to optimize runtime draw calls.

Export targets include Unity and Unreal, with metadata for collision, navmesh hints, and material assignments. Runway positioned SceneBuilder as a rapid-prototyping tool for small studios and indie teams that need playable spaces quickly while maintaining artistic control.
