Runway updates Gen Studio with UI-aware video templates and component-aware exports
Design · 4 min read
Runway upgraded Gen Studio to better support UI-centric motion design by treating overlays, HUDs, and on-screen text as editable vector components throughout the generation pipeline. Designers can now animate UI elements and export them as component manifests that integrate with game engines or web frameworks.
The system maintains editability—layer names, anchors, and token references survive through motion generation—so iterative design remains practical. Runway also added timeline-aware responsive presets that adapt UI behavior to different aspect ratios and motion preferences.
This update targets motion designers and game UI teams that need polished, production-ready motion without manually reconstructing assets. Runway is offering component-aware export presets for Unity, Unreal, and Lottie-compatible web workflows.
