Runway updates Gen-3 video model with higher temporal consistency for motion design

Runway’s Gen-3 got an update targeted at motion professionals: improved temporal coherence, better object permanence, and longer clip support with stable style transfer across frames. The engineering team focused on reducing frame-level artifacts that used to require manual compositing fixes.

The model also includes new style-preservation knobs that let designers lock color grading and motion characteristics for specified objects throughout a clip. Runway added export profiles optimized for post-production software and codecs commonly used in motion design pipelines.

Runway says the update reduces iteration time for VFX-heavy sequences and offers a more predictable base for hand-tuned compositing. The company rolled out the feature as part of its pro tier with a transparent changelog and usage best practices to help studios integrate it into existing pipelines.
