Samsung announces Design Assistant SDK for Galaxy devices using on-device models

Samsung's Design Assistant SDK includes lightweight generative models optimized for on-device inference on Galaxy silicon. Developers and designers can use the SDK to generate adaptive UI variants, test motion profiles with device sensors, and produce localized microcopy without sending user data off-device.
The SDK integrates with Samsung's One UI design tokens and provides sample modules for responsive layouts, iconographic variants, and dynamic theming tied to system-level preferences. Samsung positions the SDK as a way to prototype personalized experiences that maintain user privacy and high performance.
Partners highlighted the benefit for device-specific UX tuning, such as foldables and large-screen experiences. Some designers cautioned that on-device model size and battery impact still require careful planning, but Samsung said it optimized inference to minimize power draw.
