Seed Funded: TinyScale Raises $8M to Ship Micro-Cloud for Edge Devices
Tech · 4 min read
TinyScale, a two-year-old startup, announced an $8 million seed raise and the upcoming release of EdgeMesh, a micro-cloud runtime designed for constrained edge hardware. EdgeMesh promises container orchestration, service discovery, and over-the-air updates for devices with as little as 128MB of memory.
The product targets companies building distributed applications for retail, smart buildings, and last-mile robotics, offering local data processing to reduce latency and bandwidth costs. TinyScale built EdgeMesh to be developer-friendly, with a CLI, SDKs for Rust and Node.js, and integrations with popular CI/CD tools.
Investors include Greenbank Capital and angel syndicates from the networking space. TinyScale plans to use the funds to complete an enterprise-grade release, grow its engineering team, and pilot installations with three large retail customers by Q1 2027.
