Shopify launches Creator Commerce toolkit and raises $180M for monetization tools

The Creator Commerce toolkit offers templates for subscription tiers, paywalled livestreams, and NFT-like digital collectibles that integrate with creators’ Shopify stores. Built-in analytics track lifetime value for fans and enable targeted re-engagement campaigns.
Shopify’s $180 million allocation supports payments infrastructure, creator payouts, and richer content monetization features. The company says it will prioritize low-friction onboarding and global payout support, including quicker settlement times for creators.
Creators welcomed the addition as a way to reduce dependence on platform ecosystems, but some asked for clearer fee schedules and discovery mechanisms. Shopify responded that pilot partners will co-design monetization terms and marketplace discovery features.
