SignalShift Announces Private 5G Edge Appliance with $42M Funding

The round was led by InfraScale Ventures with strategic participation from industrial OEMs. SignalShift will use funds to certify its appliance across carriers and to expand partnerships for Managed Private Network deployments.
The edge appliance integrates radio, containerized MEC (mobile edge compute), and an orchestration dashboard for network slices, QoS policies, and device lifecycle management. It’s marketed as a single-vendor solution that avoids complex integration across telecom stacks.
Pilot sites demonstrated predictable latencies under 10 ms and simplified provisioning for fleets of AGVs and AR headsets used in guided assembly. SignalShift’s dashboard exposes telemetry for both networking and application metrics, simplifying cross-team operations.
Adoption will hinge on pricing and operator relationships; enterprises still face procurement hurdles when shifting from Wi-Fi to private cellular. SignalShift plans bundled professional services and “network-as-a-service” contracts to accelerate deployments.
