Sketch 2026 adds component variants and AI-assisted accessibility audits

Component variants now support multiple axes (size, state, density) and baked-in token references, making it easier to create responsive symbols that scale across platforms. Variant switching integrates with Sketch's prototyping flows to simulate real-world product states.

The AI accessibility audit assesses contrast, touch target size, navigability, and semantic labeling suggestions. It produces a prioritized report and one-click fixes (for example, suggesting a color token with sufficient contrast or resizing interactive elements to meet touch guidelines).

Sketch also improved handoff exports with enhanced JSON manifests so developers receive structured token maps and component hierarchies. Teams with older Sketch systems found migration to modern design practices smoother with these updates.
