Sketch 9 introduces generative components and real-time A/B preview

Sketch 9's big additions are generative components—parametric building blocks that accept constraints and produce multiple variants—and a real-time A/B preview tool that streams variants to stakeholders for quick feedback. Generative components can be constrained by brand tokens, accessibility settings, and platform targets.

The A/B preview system hosts variants behind a shareable link where viewers can toggle conditions, leave comments tied to a specific variant, and see metrics from light-weight user tests embedded in the page. Sketch also added a variant diff engine to highlight differences and explain how token changes ripple through a system.

Sketch says these updates are targeted at teams that iterate quickly and need integrated experimentation rather than relying on external testing platforms. The release also includes importer improvements for migrating Figma and Adobe files with preserved variant metadata.
