Sketch 90 Adds Live Collaboration for Local Design Servers and Model Hooks
Design · 4 min read
Sketch 90 expands real-time multi-user editing to support local network servers and private VMs. This feature allows teams to collaborate within firewalled environments, minimizing the need to push drafts to external services. Sketch also updated its plugin API to accept ‘model hooks’— small configuration entries that point to internal model endpoints.
Model hooks let plugins and actions call a team’s internal LLM for tasks like content generation, naming, or automated QA checks. Sketch provides an SDK with a standardized signature and authentication flow to keep calls secure and auditable.
Design teams constrained by client privacy or corporate policy find the combination of local collaboration and private model integration particularly compelling. Sketch has also published enterprise deployment guides to ease onboarding for IT departments.
