Sketch adds live collaboration with on-device AI for offline editing

The collaboration system supports conflict resolution heuristics tuned for design artifacts, prioritizing local edits and providing an explicit merge workflow for overlapping component changes. Sketch's on-device assistant can generate alt text, propose accessibility fixes, and suggest copy changes without sending files to the cloud.
For teams that do rely on cloud sync, Sketch added end-to-end encryption and audit logs that track merge decisions and exported assets. Admins can set policies to require cloud backups or enforce purely local workflows for sensitive projects.
Design leads valued the improved privacy and the ability to keep core design work within corporate networks. Some users pointed out edge cases where simultaneous editing of deeply nested components still results in confusing merges, an area Sketch says will get iterative improvements.
