Sketch adds Motion Timeline and improved developer handoff exports

The Motion Timeline lets designers define keyframes directly inside Sketch, apply easing curves, and preview transitions without switching to a dedicated prototyping app. Timelines are tied to symbols, so reusable motion patterns can be centrally managed and updated across files.

On the export side, Sketch now produces richer handoff artifacts: generated CSS variables, SwiftUI views, and component state descriptors that preserve motion metadata. The export mechanism integrates with popular developer platforms to reduce manual translation of animations.

Teams testing the beta noted fewer discrepancies between designer intent and implemented motion, especially for micro-interactions. Sketch says the timeline system is intentionally simple to avoid replacing full-featured motion tools, focusing instead on everyday product motion patterns.
