Sketch announces component generative suggestions powered by on-prem models
Design · 3 min read
Sketch's new feature surfaces component variations and adaptive layout suggestions inside the inspector pane, using locally hosted models that implement a minimal inference API. Teams can choose prepackaged model bundles or bring their own checkpoints optimized for Sketch's vector engine.
Suggested components are emitted as editable symbols aligned to the team's design tokens, with metadata indicating which library and token set the suggestion conforms to. The on-prem option addresses legal and privacy concerns for regulated industries and design teams working with unreleased IP.
Sketch partnered with a handful of enterprise customers during the beta and added a sync mechanism to share approved model bundles across studios. The release targets studios that want the advantages of generative design assistance while keeping intellectual property fully controlled in-house.
