Sketch Labs releases 'Motion Composer': AI-assisted micro-interactions for UI components

Motion Composer inspects a component's layers and generates suggested entry/exit animations, hover states, and structural morphs, producing both timeline previews and Lottie-compatible JSON exports. Designers can tune easing curves, durations, and anchor behaviors within the plugin.

A notable feature is the 'composition-aware' morph engine that maintains semantic layer relationships during transitions, preventing jarring artifacts when elements resize or reposition. The plugin supports export presets for web, iOS, and Android.

Motion Composer includes collaboration comments tied to specific frames, helping product teams iterate on perceived motion. Sketch Labs plans to add an explainability panel describing why certain animations were suggested, to help designers reason about motion choices.
