Sketch Marketplace opens AI plugin category with certified model providers

The new category highlights plugins that meet Sketch's data-use guidelines and offer clear privacy controls. Certified providers must disclose training data practices, offer opt-out telemetry, and provide enterprise deployment options. Sketch added a review process to vet claims about on-device inference and dataset provenance.

Plugin pages include standardized metadata such as model size, latency, and export formats. Sketch also published a developer toolkit with reference implementations for local inference using CoreML and ONNX runtime, aiming to make it easier for vendors to offer on-device modes for macOS and iPadOS.

Designers welcomed the transparency and easier discoverability of trustworthy tools, but some called for stricter enforcement of the certification criteria. Sketch said it will audit plugins regularly and expand the certification program based on community feedback.
