Sketch releases Plugin SDK v3 with native generative-materials support

The new SDK exposes endpoints for plugins to register generative material providers that can stream assets into Sketch canvases. Providers can supply images, patterns, or component variants while tagging each asset with provenance metadata such as source prompts and model versions.

Plugin developers get access to a standardized token and governance model for AI operations, plus a visual preview pipeline to simulate how a generated material would behave across breakpoints and variant states. There's also a new collaborator API that surfaces who initiated a generation and hosts an approval flow.

Sketch highlights that v3 prioritizes designer control and auditability: generated materials are sandboxed until approved, and teams can enforce constraints on style, licensing, or accessibility at the workspace level.
