SketchBox raises $9M to build design-system-as-code platform for engineers
Design · 3 min read
SketchBox lets teams define design tokens, responsive rules, and component APIs in a code-first interface that generates both designer artifacts (Sketch/Figma export) and production-ready component libraries for React, Vue, and SwiftUI. The platform includes visual diffing to show how token changes propagate across products.
The $9 million seed round was led by Foundry Grove with participation from design-centric angel investors and several early-stage funds. The company will use the capital to build enterprise-grade governance, add platform SDKs, and expand integrations with CI/CD pipelines.
Use cases from early customers include faster theme variations for global brands and automated accessibility updates when token contrast ratios fall below thresholds. SketchBox emphasizes its goal of making design systems maintainable at scale through versioning, semantic tokens, and policy enforcement.
