SketchFlow raises $12M Seed to ship 'Live Layout' — a responsive design engine for teams

SketchFlow, a design automation startup, announced a $12 million seed round led by Initialized Capital and launched Live Layout, a new engine that converts static artboards into responsive layout systems and exportable component libraries. Live Layout analyzes constraints, spacing rules, and typography to generate layout rules that adapt across breakpoints and content changes.

The product integrates with existing Figma and Adobe XD workflows and outputs component metadata that front-end frameworks can consume, including React, Vue, and SwiftUI. SketchFlow emphasizes that Live Layout focuses on design intent preservation: designers can tweak constraints in a visual editor while engineers receive machine-readable layout specs.

Investors said the funding will accelerate platform development and beef up collaboration features like version history for generated systems, role-based permissions, and tighter IDE integrations. SketchFlow plans an enterprise plan with SSO and on-prem deployment options for larger organizations handling sensitive design assets.
