SketchKit integrates AI-based accessibility checker into the editor
Design · 3 min read
The new accessibility checker runs continuously within SketchKit and surfaces both blatant and subtle issues with severity labels. For each flagged item the tool suggests corrective actions—alternative color tokens, spacing adjustments for hit areas, and improved semantic labeling for screen readers.
Where appropriate, the AI proposes fix previews so designers can apply changes in one click or tweak suggestions. The checker also generates an accessibility report exportable to development teams, with code snippets and recommended ARIA attributes for implementation.
SketchKit's team emphasizes that the feature augments human judgment rather than replacing it; it includes explainability notes so designers understand why a suggestion was made, aiding design education and cross-disciplinary alignment with engineers.
