Sketchly 6.0 introduces AI-assisted component variance and motion properties
Design · 4 min read
The new variance system in Sketchly 6.0 leverages a lightweight generative model to propose component sizes, states, and responsive behaviors based on a combination of layout constraints and usage analytics. Designers can accept or tweak generated variants, and accepted variants are automatically added to the design system catalog.
Motion suggestions use a small on-device model that analyzes interaction patterns and proposes easing curves, durations, and micro-interactions matched to brand tone. Suggested motions include keyboard and voice-accessible alternatives, aiming to bolster inclusive motion design practices.
Sketchly also added an audit panel that surfaces proposed variants and motion changes in a single reviewable list, improving handoff to developers. The release highlights speed improvements in the component editor and a new API for plugin developers to access the variance generator.
