SketchMate plugin brings on-device LM to generate microcopy in Figma and Sketch

The plugin uses a compact LM that runs locally and respects file-level scopes, so sensitive design mockups never leave the user's machine. Designers can select text placeholders and request multiple microcopy variants for different tones and lengths, and accept changes inline. SketchMate also integrates with spellcheck and localization stubs to help teams prepare strings for translation.

Performance is near-instant for short snippets, and the plugin includes a small prompt template library geared specifically to microcopy tasks: error messages, CTA labels, onboarding hints, and confirmation dialogs. Teams can create shared templates so writers and designers maintain consistent voice and brevity across projects.

While the on-device approach reduces privacy risk and latency, it limits model capacity; the vendor suggests using server-based variants for large-scale content generation. Still, many product designers appreciated the convenience of quick drafts without switching contexts.
