Sketchwell secures $22M to grow SketchGPT, a conversational plugin for design tools

SketchGPT provides designers with on-demand suggestions for interaction flows, alt-text and content generation, and accessibility guidance within the design canvas. The assistant can explain design trade-offs in plain language and suggest iterations consistent with brand tokens and design system rules.

The $22 million Series A was led by Loom Capital, earmarked for deeper integrations, data governance features, and model fine-tuning on vetted UX corpora. Sketchwell emphasized that SketchGPT offers transparent provenance and versioning so teams can trace how suggestions were derived.

Design leads reported that the assistant improved handoff quality by catching overlooked accessibility issues and generating realistic placeholder content. Sketchwell plans to build enterprise controls to enforce brand and legal constraints on generated copy and patterns.
