Skyline Interactive raises $30M to build a crossplay indie game ecosystem

Skyline Interactive announced a $30M Series A to develop a middleware platform that stitches together crossplay networking, player identity and monetization for indie and mid-size studios. The company’s goal is to make cross-platform launches less resource-intensive and more reliable.

The funding will be used to expand server infrastructure, add developer tools for anti-cheat and moderation, and build a revenue-share storefront for discoverability. Skyline also intends to open-source selective SDK components to lower integration friction.

Several indie partners already piloted Skyline’s crossplay layer during closed tests, reporting lower matchmaking latency and reduced QA burden. The company believes democratizing crossplay will help smaller studios compete with larger publishers when targeting multiple platforms.
