SpatialType introduces 3D typography tool for AR and raises $7M seed
Design · 4 min read
SpatialType addresses common AR typography problems—distance-driven legibility, occlusion, and dimensional cues—by providing live spatial previews, curvature grids, and automatic LOD export for engine-ready assets. Designers can pin text to surfaces or create responsive floating labels with anchored behavior.
The $7 million seed was led by Horizon AR and will be used to build plugins for major AR authoring platforms, optimize runtime shaders, and support international scripts with typographic nuance. SpatialType highlights features like collision-aware line breaks and gaze-driven prominence.
Design studios working on AR navigation and museum installations reported faster iteration cycles and more predictable legibility across devices. SpatialType plans to introduce runtime analytics to help teams measure on-device readability and refine typographic systems.
