Spectra Design Raises $7M Seed to Launch 'ColorSense', an AI Color System for Brands

ColorSense analyzes logos, imagery, and brand voice to propose cohesive color systems that meet WCAG contrast guidelines across components and states. Spectra’s seed was led by Palette Ventures and several brand strategists.

The system exports tokens for design systems, CSS variables, and theme packs for front-end frameworks. It also suggests semantic roles for colors—primary actions, warnings, neutral backgrounds—and provides accessible alternatives for high-contrast modes.

Spectra positions ColorSense as a bridge between creative direction and engineering implementation, reducing handoff friction. Designers can iterate on a live preview with simulated content and generate spec sheets automatically.

Proceeds from the round will go toward improving the model’s cultural color sensibilities, increasing language support, and building plugins for major design tools. Early brands reported faster brand refresh cycles and fewer accessibility regressions.
