Spectra Microsystems announced the Spectra Pocket, a pocket-sized handheld console optimized for cloud-native gaming experiences. The device focuses on stream-first titles, offering hardware buttons, adaptive triggers, and a proprietary low-latency streaming stack.
On the software side, Spectra provides an SDK for developers to implement render-optimized streaming modes and controller feedback hooks. The company claims end-to-end latency below 60ms for supported regions by combining edge compute routing and a GPU-backed stream encoder.
Spectra will ship the Pocket with a subscription bundle for select cloud game libraries and plans to partner with mid-size publishers to curate titles that benefit from stream-oriented mechanics. Pricing starts around $249 with a preorder push this quarter.
