Spline raises $18M to expand 3D design tooling with live collaboration

Spline's Live Studio introduces simultaneous multi-user editing, conflict resolution, and an integrated timeline for scene changes. Designers can now iterate together on animations, lighting, and geometry while the system manages object-level merges and asset histories. The feature set is aimed at teams producing web-embedded 3D experiences and interactive ads.

The company closed an $18 million round led by Studio Capital with participation from a major creative software firm and several angel investors from the 3D gaming and VFX industries. Funds will be allocated toward performance optimization, cloud rendering, and enterprise collaboration features such as single sign-on and permissioning.

Spline says Live Studio will help shrink review cycles between designers, marketers, and engineers by enabling stakeholder previews directly in the editor. The product is rolling out in stages, with the first wave available to professional subscribers and enterprise pilots slated for Q3.
