Spline updates with AI-assisted 3D layout and export for UI prototypes
Design · 3 min read
The AI layout assistant suggests object placements, lighting setups, and depth-of-field settings to maintain visual hierarchy in 3D scenes intended for UI contexts. Designers can choose presets tuned for readability, performance, or stylized presentation, and the assistant will adapt geometry and textures accordingly.
Export improvements include lightweight GLTF bundles, interaction metadata for runtime mapping, and image sequence exports with alpha channels for compositing in traditional prototyping tools. Spline also added performance budgeting insights that estimate runtime cost for web and mobile.
These updates aim to make 3D a pragmatic extension of UI design instead of an isolated craft. Spline announced partnerships with prototyping vendors to streamline 3D asset handoff into design workflows.
