Stability AI debuts StableDesign: a diffusion-tuned model for UI mockups and assets

Stability AI's StableDesign adapts diffusion techniques for UI use cases, producing cleaner icon sets, component patterns, and mockups that are easier to convert into vectors. The model was trained on curated UI datasets and includes a style metadata layer that labels color, spacing, and typography for easier tokenization.

StableDesign offers controllable generation through constraints like grid alignment, accessibility contrast thresholds, and color palette locks. The tool also exports layered SVGs with named groups to preserve editability and supports batch generation for entire screens or design system elements.

Stability is releasing StableDesign as both an API and an offline toolkit for studios that want to run inference without cloud dependency. The company says licensing will allow commercial use without per-image royalties for design workflows.
