Stability AI debuts StableUX to convert UI images into production-ready code snippets
Tech · 5 min read
StableUX is trained on paired image-to-code datasets and includes a tokenizer that maps visual elements to framework-specific primitives. Designers can upload a screenshot and get back components, CSS variables, and a style guide summary meant to accelerate handoffs.
The system offers multiple fidelity modes: 'Sketch' for approximate layouts, 'Production' for componentized, accessible output, and 'Tokenize' for extracting reusable design tokens. Stability AI also released a plugin for common design tools to trigger conversions from the canvas.
The company warns that generated code is a starting point and requires review, especially for interactive behavior and state management. Stability AI is partnering with several low-code vendors to embed StableUX into app builders and asserts that the model is open to community feedback for improving quality.
