Stability AI launches StableDesign: controllable image-to-UI generation model

StableDesign accepts rough sketches or wireframes and produces pixel-accurate mockups that preserve user-specified constraints like grid, spacing, and typography. Stability's innovation is a control token mechanism that lets designers lock colors, component proportions, or accessibility properties before generation.

The model integrates with popular design tools and provides an API for CI-style generation, enabling automated A/B testing of visual variants. Stability also introduced deterministic seed controls to help teams reproduce assets reliably for review and asset pipelines.

Designers appreciated the quality and repeatability, particularly for quick explorations, but some noted that generated layouts occasionally need manual touchups for edge-case content. Stability said it will add dataset filters and improved typography handling in upcoming updates.
