Stability AI launches StableForm for controllable 3D model generation from sketches

StableForm blends sketch conditioning with text prompts to produce 3D geometry optimized for downstream pipelines. Outputs prioritize clean topology, predictable edge loops, and UVs suitable for texture baking—addressing a common pain point for artists using generic text-to-3D generators.

The model supports constraint inputs, so artists can lock silhouette proportions or key edge flows while allowing the model to fill in fine-grained geometry. Stability AI also introduced an in-browser previewer with LOD generation and export presets to engine-ready formats.

Stability AI encouraged studios to use StableForm as a rapid prototyping layer rather than a final production asset generator. The company also released a dataset of paired sketches and cleaned meshes to help studios fine-tune the model for specific art styles.
