Stability unveils StableScene for automated game environment generation

StableScene is Stability AI's entry into generative game tooling, offering an end-to-end pipeline that turns high-level scene descriptions into reusable level modules and PBR textures. The toolkit supports thematic presets, such as post-apocalyptic cityscapes or alien canyons, and generates occlusion-aware lighting maps.

Generated assets are exported as FBX/GLTF packages with LODs and collision meshes, plus texture atlases optimized for streaming. Stability also included a localization of scale and gameplay metadata so designers can plan enemy placements and navigation baked into the generated geometry.

The company is offering StableScene under a tiered licensing model with a studio plan that includes runtime redistribution rights. Early testers reported significant savings in worldbuilding time, though larger studios still recommend manual polish for gameplay-critical areas.
