StabilityAI introduces StableScene: 3D scene generation from moodboards
Tech · 5 min read
StabilityAI launched StableScene, a generative model that produces 3D scene layouts, rough geometry, and lighting setups from moodboards, sketches, or textual prompts. The output is designed as a starting point for concept artists and environment designers who need rapid scene blockouts.
StableScene exports to standard formats like glTF and Alembic and offers presets for game engines and visual effects pipelines. It provides layered exports—geometry, rough material maps, and light rigs—so artists can import and refine the results in their digital content creation (DCC) tools.
StabilityAI highlighted the model's ability to respect stylistic constraints and to produce multiple layout alternatives. Artists using the beta report significant reductions in time spent on initial scene blocking and value the creative sparking the tool provides.
