Stable DesignNet: open-source model for control-guided mockup generation

Stable DesignNet is an open-source generative model trained on a curated corpus of mockups, wireframes, and component libraries. It extends diffusion approaches with layout conditioning and a bespoke renderer that outputs layer-structured files compatible with common design tools.

The model supports control inputs like grid constraints, token palettes, and rough sketch masks so designers can maintain high-level structure while the model fills details. Outputs include a JSON layer map for easy conversion into Figma or Sketch formats via community plugins.

Because it's open, DesignNet has already spawned forks that add accessibility heuristics and localization-aware text rendering. Stability AI and collaborators published a model card and dataset provenance documentation to address earlier concerns about provenance and reuse.
