Stratum games raises $30M and reveals cloud-native engine for cross-platform multiplayer

Stratum Games, previously known for middleware tools, announced a $30 million Series B and the release of Stratum Engine, a managed cloud-native backend for scalable cross-platform multiplayer experiences. The engine includes deterministic rollback netcode, region-aware matchmaking, and hot-reloadable server logic.

A key differentiator is built-in experimentation: designers can deploy live A/B tests for matchmaking rules, reward curves, and UI tweaks without redeploying game clients. The platform offers analytics hooks and feature flags that sync with design dashboards.

Stratum will use funding to expand regional edge coverage, improve latency optimization, and provide studio support for migrating legacy titles. Early partners include mid-size live-service studios looking to cut backend ops while increasing iteration speed.
