StudioShift unveils collaborative VR design suite after $14M seed round

StudioShift’s suite provides VR-native tools: scale-accurate model handling, physics-based material mixing, and real-time lighting rigs for designers to walk through and edit at scale. The environment supports mixed-presence sessions so remote teams can collaborate as if they were co-located.

The $14 million seed round, led by Atelier Ventures, will accelerate headset support, optimize performance for lower-end devices, and recruit material scientists to expand realistic surface behavior. StudioShift is partnering with industrial design studios and furniture manufacturers for pilot programs.

Designers using early builds say the platform speeds up decisions around ergonomics and materials by letting stakeholders inhabit designs. StudioShift plans an invite-only beta for enterprise customers this fall and a broader release in 2027.
