SynapseOS raises $60M to build an AI-first operating layer for edge devices
Tech ยท 6 min read
SynapseOS is developing an operating layer that standardizes model serving, resource isolation, and secure updates on heterogeneous edge hardware. The $60 million round, led by Horizon Foundry, will fund engineering to support more architectures and build out over-the-air management features.
The OS provides container-like isolation for models, SDKs for model observability, and a policy engine for constrained devices that ensures fair CPU/GPU allocation. SynapseOS also includes a marketplace for certified drivers and acceleration plugins validated for low-latency inference.
SynapseOS will target robotics, industrial cameras, and retail analytics deployments where remote management and security are priorities. The company emphasizes seamless developer experience, offering CLI tooling and CI/CD integrations to speed edge rollout.
