The garage mat uses resonant inductive coupling and an alignment guide app to optimize power transfer for a wide range of EVs. TerraCharge says the mat supports up to 11 kW on a standard residential feeder and installs like a rug with slip-resistant anchors and contamination protection.
The Series C, led by GreenGrid Capital, will fund UL certification, manufacturing scale-up, and dealer partnerships. TerraCharge also plans pilot programs with apartment complexes to enable shared wireless charging for residents.
Early adopters cited the convenience of no-cable charging and the simplified installation for multi-unit dwellings. TerraCharge emphasizes safety features like foreign-object detection, thermal safeguards, and integration with home energy management platforms for peak-shaving and solar prioritization.
