TerraCharge Raises $140M to Expand Modular EV Fast-Charging Network
Tech · 4 min read
TerraCharge’s pods store energy locally to smooth grid demand and enable high-power charging without extensive utility upgrades. The funding will finance production of a second-generation pod with improved energy density and bidirectional capabilities for vehicle-to-grid use cases.
On the software side, TerraCharge offers dynamic pricing, reservation systems, and predictive load balancing to optimize throughput at dense sites. The company is prioritizing partnerships with municipal authorities and retail landlords to place pods in high footfall areas.
Investors cited the need for flexible charging infrastructure as EV adoption grows and urban deployment constraints persist. TerraCharge expects to triple its deployment footprint in the next 18 months and is piloting bidirectional services with fleet operators.
