TypeFoundry raises $10M to scale variable font studio with collaborative features

TypeFoundry's studio enables teams to design, test, and publish variable fonts with live collaboration and multi-axis editing. The platform includes a cloud rendering engine so large display fonts and multi-font families can be previewed without local toolchains.

The new capital funds features for collaborative kerning workflows, shared glyph libraries, and versioning that tracks typographic decisions over time. TypeFoundry also announced a partnership program with design systems vendors to facilitate tokenized typography across products.

For UX designers, variable fonts mean finer control of weight, width, and optical sizing without loading multiple files. TypeFoundry plans templates and accessibility checks to help teams adopt variable typography responsibly and will open an enterprise plan for publishers and platform teams.
