TypeFoundry secures $15M Series A to scale variable font SaaS

TypeFoundry, a startup that offers a SaaS for creating, hosting, and tuning variable fonts, announced a $15 million Series A led by Meridian Ventures. The platform combines a visual font editor, CDN hosting, and runtime optimizations that deliver typography variations without multiple static font files.

The company plans to deepen integrations with major CMS providers and design tools to enable designers to push typographic changes from design files to live sites with one click. TypeFoundry highlights features like perceptual weight axes, optical size tuning, and automatic fallback shaping for legacy browsers.

Early enterprise customers in publishing and retail reported improved page performance and consistent typographic rhythm across device sizes. The new funding will also fund enhanced analytics that show how typographic choices affect readability and conversion metrics.
