TypeLab raises $6M to launch generative typeface engine for brand design

Designers input attributes like tone, x-height preferences and intended reading distances, and TypeLab generates multiple typeface families with variable axes and web-ready feature sets. Outputs include WOFF2 variable fonts and developer token packages.

TypeLab also provides contrast and legibility checks and suggests accessible fallback stacks. The company integrates with popular design tools to let designers swap generated fonts into live prototypes.

Seed funding will expand stylistic sets, add custom licensing options for agencies, and refine the interpolation engine to produce high-quality display and body text pairings. Early clients include two major branding agencies running pilots.
